COMMUNITY.

When communities of color have access to healthcare and social service providers who see them, understand them, and meet them where they’re at, health and healing doesn’t feel like work: it feels like recognition.

Our team is part of the communities of color we serve. We’re proud to represent Buffalo’s East Side and to uplift the community we love.

That’s why we’re here to help you find healthcare providers and social services that you trust and connect with, who are grounded in culture, care, and empowerment.

Predominately Black and Brown neighborhoods in Buffalo, like the East Side that CAS calls home, face a systemic lack of access to healthcare and social services with a real impact on our community’s health and wellness.

CAS is here to change this story by making culturally rooted healthcare and social services accessible and by breaking down social and economic barriers to health.

The support you need is always in reach: we partner with like-hearted organizations throughout Western New York to connect you to whatever medical and supportive services you need to thrive.

HIV TESTING

When you come to CAS for free HIV testing, treatment, prevention, or education, you can trust that you’re in good hands with people who get it.

We’re here for YOU, and we never judge. Our dream is a future where Buffalo’s communities of color are no longer disproportionately affected by HIV.

FOOD PANTRY

It’s hard to focus on your health and wellness when you’re worried about putting enough food on the table. We’re here to take worries off your plate and to help keep your plate filled.

Our food pantry is open to all CAS clients and residents of 14215.

HEALTHCARE REFERRALS

Looking for a primary care provider or specialist who will hear you, see you, and understand your needs as a person of color?

We follow your lead to help you find providers who are conveniently located, and who you trust and feel aligned with.

SUPPORTIVE COUNSELING

What can we do to help? One-on-one counseling can help you overcome challenges that are getting in the way of your personal and professional goals.

Our team can help you with resume writing and career preparation; help you find transportation and housing assistance; or just lend an ear and chat through your personal goals and challenges.

CORRECTIONS & RE-ENTRY HEALTH

We believe that people who are incarcerated, and those who are re-entering the community, deserve health, dignity, and support.

We help residents of the WENDE Hub of WNY care for their health while incarcerated, and connect those who are re-entering with the health and wellness services they need to get back on their feet.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

The help you need is never out of reach. We partner with like-hearted community organizations throughout Western New York so that we can connect you to the health and wellness services that you need, want, and deserve.

OUR NEW LOCATION.

OPENING SUMMER 2026.

You shouldn’t have to leave your neighborhood to access healthcare, pharmacy, and supportive programs like food pantries and financial counseling. Starting this summer, you won’t have to, because Community Access Services and Evergreen Health are bringing all these services under one roof in our new health center in the heart of the Kensington-Bailey neighborhood.

TODAY:

Buffalo’s vibrant, diverse Kensington Bailey neighborhood is federally designated as a “medically underserved area” that lacks the healthcare resources needed to meet the needs of its residents.

These systemic factors have long contributed to ongoing economic, social, and health inequities.

  • 69% of Kensington Bailey residents are traveling outside of the neighborhood for healthcare services
  • The closest medical care provider is a 30-minute walk away
  • The nearest pharmacy is a 15-minute walk away

TOMORROW:

A new comprehensive healthcare center is coming to the historic intersection of Kensington and Bailey Avenues this summer.

Here, you’ll be able to access services from Community Access Services, Evergreen Health, and community partners, including:

  • Primary and Specialty Care
  • Pharmacy, offering free delivery
  • Care Coordination
  • Gynecology and sexual health services
  • Food Pantry
  • Financial Counseling
  • Employment readiness services
  • Multiuse meeting rooms for community groups and block clubs
  • Office space for community partners
